To become a debutante you must receive the Cinderella Ball Mother/Daughter Tea Invitation in April of your junior year of high school. To request an invitation, contact Mrs. Jamie Lanier. The Cinderella Ball is open to all races, nationalities, and schools. Once a potential debutante accepts the invitation to the Cinderella Ball Mother/Daughter Tea in April, she receives an information packet that lists all the information for the Ball. After making the commitment to participate in the Cinderella Ball, the debutante must complete a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer service for that year's beneficiary. The debutante that has the most volunteer hours receives a financial Scholarship Award on the night of the Ball. Debutantes try to complete their volunteer hours by the end of summer before they start their senior year. During the summer the Debutantes find their perfect white gown for the Ball. In the fall the debutantes are photographed for the Program. They perfect the formal curtsy and the Father/Daughter Waltz. Their fathers present them to a society consisting of their families, friends, and the world beyond since 1924. On the night of the Ball, usually the last Saturday in January, a Prince Charming chooses Cinderella's name out of a pumpkin which contains the Debutantes names.
